Ninth overall pick Zach Edey and the Memphis Grizzlies secured another preseason win, this time defeating the Indiana Pacers 120-116 on Monday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Despite Brandon Clarke leading Edey at center on Monday, the rookie finished the night with an impressive 23 points, nine rebounds and a steal while shooting 10-for-15 from the field.

Grizzly fourth-year Desmond Bane contributed 23 points, two rebounds and two assists to complement Edey’s performance.

The 7’4″ center’s remarkable size, combined with his athleticism and physical presence, represents a significant defensive advantage for a Grizzlies team that struggled last season, finishing 19th in defensive rating.

The 22-year-old impressed fans as he approached his regular season debut.
