Zach Bryan apologizes for ‘drunken’ tweet about Taylor Swift and Kanye West: Buzz

Country star Zach Bryan apologizes after tweeting “while drunk” about Taylor Swift and Kanye West.

“Eagles > Chiefs. Kanye > Taylor,” Bryan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. “Who’s in?”

Bryan seemed to express his love for the Philadelphia Eagles over the Kansas City Chiefs; Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce is a tight end for the Chiefs. She also has a history with Ye, who stormed the stage at the 2009 MTV VMAs when she beat Beyonce to win Best Female Video. (Fun fact: Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” still won Video of the Year that night.)

The backlash was not long in coming – pun intended – and the singer of “I Remember Everything” has since deleted his X-account.

“To the record people: I wasn’t here for Taylor the other day,” Bryan wrote on Instagram. “I was drunk comparing two records and it came out wrong… I know there are a lot of things floating around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you know I’m human and tweet stupid things a lot.”

“I get in trouble too often through Twitter and I would say it’s best if I stay away from it,” Bryan continued. “I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I upset or disappointed. I love you guys and I’m doing my best!”

Bryan also stressed that he respects Swift as a musician and gave his fans a piece of wisdom: “Don’t drink and tweet. Don’t drink and tweet!!”
