You can stream Disney Plus or Hulu for free with a Kroger membership

Kroger might be convenient for grocery shopping, but how about streaming “Agatha All Along” or “Only Murders in the Building”?

The grocery giant announced Tuesday that Hulu, Disney Plus and ESPN Plus are now available with a Boost by Kroger Plus annual membership. There’s one caveat: it’s a single ad-based plan – no bundling. To take advantage, members can choose a subscription to just one Disney family streaming service: Hulu with ads, Disney Plus Basic (with ads), or ad-based ESPN Plus. A $99 annual Boost membership includes a streaming subscription that lasts as long as you’re logged in Kroger program. A $59 annual plan offers the same thing, but only for six months of streaming.

Streaming benefit applies to new and returning US subscribers aged 18 and over. Aside from the perks, Boost memberships offer free grocery delivery on orders over $35 (same-day or next-day depending on the plan), more gas stations and other offers, and free items. You can choose whether you want to pay Thrust on a monthly basis, but you cannot access a streaming service.

The news comes as Disney prepares to increase prices for Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus. Starting October 17, subscribers will pay more on that date or the first billing cycle or after that date. The ad-supported version of Disney Plus costs $10 per month (was $8). Hulu will also increase to $10 monthly or $100 annually. ESPN Plus will go from $11 monthly to $12 and from $110 annually to $120. If you paid for a year of Disney Plus or ESPN Plus at that price, it would cost $21 more than if you got the year for $99 Boost plan.

If you already have a streaming service and would like to get it through an annual Boost membership instead, you’ll need to cancel and wait until your billing cycle ends. Here you will find further information, including how to redeem your service, on Kroger’s website. If you’re interested in other food-themed subscriptions that include streaming services, here’s how to get Max with DashPass and Peacock with Instacart.
