In many Florida counties, residents can vote as early as Monday, October 21st as Election Day 2024 approaches.

As residents across Florida recover from the devastating impacts of back-to-back hurricanes, the governor’s office issued an executive order to address difficulties caused by infrastructure damage, power outages and the availability of poll workers.

These include flexibility in rules for training and hiring poll workers, early voting deadlines, polling locations and extensions for absentee voting.

“I am pleased to report that our early voting plans have remained intact even after two hurricanes,” Hillsborough elections director Craig Latimer said in a news release. “I particularly encourage voters who may be displaced or are dealing with severe weather concerns to take advantage of early voting in our county.”

Photo IDs acceptable for voting include:

• Florida driver’s license
• Florida ID card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
• US passport
• Debit or credit card
• Military ID
• Student ID card
• ID of the retirement home
• Neighborhood association ID
• Public assistance card
• Veterans Health Card (issued by VA)
• Concealed Weapon License (issued pursuant to Section 790.06)
• Government employee ID card

Plan to bring at least two current forms of identification with your signature and photo in case either is not acceptable.
