Even though New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter has a job to do broadcasting the FOX World Series, deep down his loyalty is evident. And that’s not the case with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

On Monday night, Jeter hopes the Yankees win a game to bring the series to a 2-1 deficit so he can stop criticizing the Yankees’ plays and being on the wrong side of the Dodgers – like he did Saturday night the 4:2 Los Angeles wins.

Restore the glory

In case you missed it, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was being interviewed on the post-game set when teammate Mookie Betts stopped by to say hello and nudge Jeter…also with a little help from Freeman.

“I know you don’t like us right now, but I love you too.” Betts said to laughter on set.

“What he says? What does he say?” Freeman repeated to troll Jeter.

“I turn him off sometimes,” Jeter replied.

A day after his walk-off grand slam, Freeman hit another home run, this time a blast in the third inning, that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 4-1.

In Saturday’s loss, the Yankees’ hitters were shut out by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed one earned run on one hit – a Juan Soto home run – with four strikeouts. New York showed life with three hits and a run in the ninth inning, but couldn’t capitalize on a bases-loaded situation with one out.

On Monday, the Yankees will call up Clarke Schmidt to start against the Dodgers’ Walker Buehler.
