WWE legend refused to work with Chris Jericho – TJR Wrestling

One of the most famous names in WWE initially wanted nothing to do with Chris Jericho.

When Chris Jericho realized that he had already come as far as he wanted to in WCW, he moved to WWE in August 1999. At 28, his best years were still ahead of him and the move was further proof to many that WCW would not be able to compete with WWE anytime soon.

Jericho debuted in a memorable promo battle against The Rock before interrupting The Undertaker on SmackDown. Not only did he interrupt The Deadman, he also told the world how boring he was.

In a recent episode of his podcast “Talk Is Jericho,” Jericho revealed that he faced “so much criticism” for targeting “Taker.” He also revealed that his original target was then-World Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin. However, Austin had no intention of interfering.

I did a promo for Undertaker on Tuesday. It was originally going to be a promo for Austin, but I think Steve said, “Screw it. I’m not doing it.” My idea at the time was that I would just bury all the top stars and tell them how boring they are. I told Undertaker how boring he is after he had just done a ten-minute, super boring promo. I got so much criticism for that.

Chris Jericho has no plans to retire

Chris Jericho, who is now at the end of his career, has rejected talks about retiring.

In a recent interview, Jericho rejected the idea that he could follow the example of Sting, John Cena and Bryan Danielson and leave the ring behind. The veteran said that while he enjoys performing and feels like he can contribute something, he sees no reason to stop.

He added that after his retirement, he would not organize a farewell tour or a farewell game, but would simply call it a day.
