– The IU Indianapolis women’s soccer program will embark on a tough two-game road trip this week as the Jaguars face Idaho on Thursday night (Aug. 28) and Montana on Sunday (Sept. 1). Both games against Big Sky opponents will be broadcast on ESPN+.

IU Indy (0-2-1) has had a rough week, as the Jaguars lost road games at Lindenwood and Southern Illinois. The Jaguars lost 2-0 at Lindenwood and then lost 3-1 at SIU. Junior Emma Frey scored her fourth career goal in the final minutes of the loss to the Salukis.

The Jaguars’ depth was put to the test at the beginning of the year, as the league’s top performers Emma-Antoine And Kailyn Smith have missed time due to injury. Frey is the team leader in minutes (263), closely followed by senior defender Makenna Collins (257), second-year defender Katie Hoog (245) and defenders Maia Ransom (244).

Second semester Caroline Kelleywho scored in the opening match against Toledo, is next in line with 235 minutes of playing time. Senior Ashton Kudlo has a goals against average of 2.40 and a save percentage of 0.571 in three appearances, while Emily Keck has 45 error-free minutes in her only appearance.

EXPLORE IN IDAHO: Idaho (2-2) is coming off a 2-1 loss to Washington State and will play its first home game on Thursday night. Sienna Gonzales and Margo Schoesler lead the Vandals with two goals each, and five different players have scored at least one goal. Paula Flores has played all 360 minutes in goal for Idaho, posting a 1.50 goals-against average and .769 save percentage. Through four games, Idaho has outscored its opponents 7-6.

EXPLORE MONTANA: Montana (3-1) is coming off a 2-0 win over MSU Billings and its only loss of the season was also against Washington State. Riley O’Brien is Montana’s leading scorer with two goals, both of which came off the bench. Ashlyn Dvorak has played all 360 minutes for the Griz and has a 0.75 goals-against average and .727 save percentage with three shutouts. Montana has outscored its opponents 6-3 to start the year.

SERIES RESULTS: This week’s two games will be the first-ever meetings between the two schools.

Next: The Jaguars return home to host Eastern Illinois (Sept. 5) and Butler (Sept. 8) at Michael A. Carroll Stadium. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
