NORFOLK, Virginia. – DeLisha Milton-Jones, head coach of the Old Dominion women’s basketball team, announced the team’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season on Wednesday.

The non-conference schedule includes two programs that participated in the NCAA Tournament and two programs that participated in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament. In addition, ODU will play an exhibition match against Christopher Newport, which won its fifth consecutive conference title and reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament last season.

After hosting the Captains for an exhibition match at Chartway Arena on Oct. 27, the Monarchs will begin their season with an away game at Ball State on Nov. 4 in the first round of the 2024–25 MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. The MAC schools will host Sun Belt teams in the first round of the Challenge, and the Sun Belt programs will then host the second round on Feb. 8, with opponents determined by NET rankings.

After traveling to Muncie, Indiana, ODU will travel to Dallas, Texas, to play SMU on Nov. 9 before a four-game home series. The team’s first home game is scheduled for Nov. 11 against Morgan State. The Monarchs will then host Bowie State on Nov. 15, VCU on Nov. 21 and William & Mary on Nov. 26. Old Dominion will spend Thanksgiving at the 2024 Daytona Beach Classic with games against Ohio State on Nov. 28 and Oakland on Nov. 30.

ODU begins December with two games against schools from the Tar Heel State. The Monarchs will make the short trip to Raleigh to play at NC State on Dec. 8 before returning to Norfolk to host East Carolina on Dec. 15. Two days later, Old Dominion will be in the nation’s capital to face Howard, and the Monarchs will be back on their home court on Dec. 22 when they host Delaware.

The Monarchs are coming off the 2023-24 season in which they reached the semifinals of the Sun Belt Championship and qualified for the 2024 Women’s National Invitation Tournament. ODU finished the season 22-10 and 12-6 in conference. Kaye Clark was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and En’Dya Buford earned a spot on the All-Conference Third Team.

Season tickets for the 2024-25 season go on sale August 28. Existing season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to renew their seats for this season and have until October 2 to make their decision. New season tickets will also be available at select locations starting August 28. Mini-tickets and single-game tickets will go on sale later in October.
