Woman charged with sex with student while teaching at St. Xavier: prosecutor

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — A former St. Xavier High School employee has been charged with a sexual relationship with a teenage student, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Emily Nutley, 42, is charged with six counts of sexual assault, prosecutors announced Monday.

Nutley was a teacher/instructor who oversaw a program to support students struggling academically at St. Xavier, prosecutors said.

The teenage victim was assigned to the program and began working with Nutley on academic matters in the fall 2023 semester, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Nutley then began having additional contact with the student outside of school hours, prosecutors said.

Multiple encounters and a sexual relationship between Nutley and the teen began in mid-November 2023, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office statement Monday.

The sexual encounters occurred at least once on the St. Xavier High School campus, including in Nutley’s office, and off school property, prosecutors said.

The student made attempts to prevent the encounters, but Nutley continued to text the teen, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said.
