BALTIMORE – A woman is accused of stabbing her sister to death after an argument, which amounts to a charge of first-degree murder, according to Baltimore County police.

Police said they went to a residence around 1:35 a.m. Sunday where they found a female victim sitting on the ground in the driveway with a lot of blood on and around her, according to court documents. Another witness was sitting with the victim and holding her down, police said.

Police said when they asked the victim where the suspect was, she pointed to another woman named Brianna Jarrells, who was later identified as the victim’s sister. She was taken to Baltimore County Police Headquarters for questioning along with the other witnesses.

Officers found the victim had an injury to her neck and transported her to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A witness told police that Jarrell and the victim were sisters and had come to his house after attending a wedding earlier that evening.

According to court documents, the sisters got into a minor argument that escalated over the course of the evening. Shortly after 1 a.m., the witness said he walked the two sisters to their car. On the way back to his house, he told police he heard the victim repeatedly say “Oh my God” – and turned around to find her lying on the ground. The witness helped the victim before getting Jarrell’s cellphone to call 911.

According to police, Jarrells began talking to an officer while she was waiting to be questioned by a detective. According to court documents, she told the officer, “I know it’s real, I actually used a utility knife. I never actually tried it, I held it out to her as a warning, I need to shut up.”

At the crime scene, investigators found a yellow carpet knife a few meters from where the victim was lying.

When the detective tried to question Jarrells, she refused to talk to them. According to police, the detective then told Jarrells that the victim died from his injuries. Without prompting, she responded, “Oh (space), I thought I just pinched her,” and began to cry.
