With Aldi’s Thanksgiving prices, you can feed 10 people for less than $50

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) – The rise in food prices is causing a huge headache for so many consumers. There’s always the pressure to find a bargain on your weekly grocery shop, and coupled with the upcoming holidays, that means even more pressure.

But grocery chains like Aldi are promising to slash prices on “Thanksgiving basket” items that will be cheaper than what you paid five years ago. Aldi said you could feed ten people for $47.

I went to grocery stores on Thursday to bring you the voices of shoppers.

I went to the Aldi on Sheridan Drive in the town of Tonawanda with my photographer Mel Hidy to look at the items.

According to Aldi, Thanksgiving items include a Butterball turkey, gravy, rolls, mac and cheese and stuffing, and a variety of other items for the holiday – costing about $4.07 per person.

Even though Thanksgiving is still six weeks away, stores are already stocking up on holiday essentials and Aldi prices have already been slashed for your Thanksgiving shopping.

“I don’t know why they do this. I’m glad that’s the case, but it’s good and helps to feel like you can enjoy yourself during the holidays without really feeling like you’ve spent too much. You don’t regret that. You want to enjoy,” DiVincenzo commented.

Shoppers told me they were fed up with higher food prices.

“I don’t look at the prices because I need the food. Either look at it and starve or buy it,” Nick mused.

“But I know their expenses are higher now too, so I understand the rising prices,” Marge said.
