Where did the Cowboys end up after their first win?

Week 1 of the NFL season is over and the week brought plenty of action and a few surprises. The Dallas Cowboys proved they are one of the best teams in the league, but just how good they are remains to be seen. Here are our NFL rankings after all the action from week one.

Carolina Panther

It was a system error that brought down the Carolina Panthers in their crushing loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. If they continue their current trajectory, the Panthers have a real chance to make history at 0-17.

New York giant

Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images

The New York Giants opened their season with a miserable 28-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants could pose strong competition to the Panthers as the worst team in the league this season if their offense continues to be lifeless.

Adam Davante

The Raiders left a lot to be desired after their ugly loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. They are a team with talent, but they lack the key element to move the franchise forward.

Deshaun Watson

Jeff Lange/USA TODAY NETWORK

It seems that a high guaranteed salary for a quarterback doesn’t make every team better. The Browns offense seems lost under quarterback Deshaun Watson, and that’s in a season where fans felt like their time had finally come to catch up.

Jayden Daniel

Kim Klement Neitzel-Imagn Images

The Commanders are still early in their recent rebuild, and their 37-20 loss on Sunday proved that. However, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels proves that the franchise may have finally got it right with its latest QB selection.

Will Levi

Andrew Nelles/The Tennessean/USA TODAY NETWORK

The Titans had the win in the bag before quarterback Will Levis made a terrible decision that led to a pick 6. Tennessee has many problems, including the offensive line, and this game could have been one of the few where the Titans could have pulled out the win.

Atlanta Falcon

Brett Davis-Images

Perhaps the most disappointing performance of Week 1 belongs to the Atlanta Falcons. A team that gave it their all in the offseason lost to a team that didn’t even score a touchdown. The Falcons will have to start all over again before they enter Week 2.

Bo Ni

Anyone who watched the Broncos-Seahawks game might have thought that Denver would score all of its points through safeties. However, the Seahawks figured it out and secured the victory 26-20. The Broncos could be battling at the bottom of the NFL standings all season.

A summer full of hope quickly turned into a question of “how did we get here?” The Bengals looked weak from the start in their loss to New England. The franchise is known for slow starts, but this game looked like the Bengals still thought it was the preseason.

Breece Hal

Aaron Rodgers’ return to the field was spoiled by the NFC’s most talented team. The Jets still have a long way to go before they figure out what kind of team they are, but time is running out.

Kyler Murra

The Cardinals had the Buffalo Bills on edge for most of the first half, but the Bills ultimately proved to be the more talented team. But Cardinals fans have to be excited about what they saw from quarterback Kyler Murray.

Caleb William

Andrew Nelles/The Tennessean/USA TODAY NETWORK

The Bears were gifted a win in their matchup with the Titans. However, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams didn’t exactly have the most impressive regular season debut. Next week, the Bears will be closely examined to see if the Week 1 win was just a fluke.

No one expected much from the Patriots this season. Their performance on Sunday was the perfect example of how to block out the noise and just play. It seems like the Patriots are ready to fight every week.

Los Angeles Charger

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

Jim Harbaugh began his tenure with the Los Angeles Chargers with a win over the Raiders, but it might not be wise to put much stock in a win over Vegas at this point in the season.

Jordan Lov

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

The Packers started their season in a nightmare scenario, with a loss to the Eagles and an injury to quarterback Jordan Love. The rest of the league may have to wait its verdict on Green Bay until Love returns from injury.

Trevor Lawrence

The Jaguars showed they are a good team in their loss to the Dolphins, but it doesn’t look like this season-opening loss will be a season-decider for a team that will compete in the tough AFC South.

Jamaal William

Stephen Lew-Images

The Saints had a week off to start the season and were devastatingly beaten by the Carolina Panthers. It’s hard to judge how talented this Saints team is, but we do know that they aren’t right down the middle with their NFC South rival.

Geno Smit

The Seahawks beat the Broncos in an ugly game on Sunday. However, either the Broncos are better than we think or the Seahawks have downplayed their competition. Seattle will be another team to keep an eye on in Week 2.

Anthony Richardson

Grace Hollars/IndyStar/USA TODAY NETWORK

The Colts lost arguably the most competitive game of Sunday against the Houston Texans. However, with this loss, the Colts showed that they have a lot of talent and will not be discouraged by Week 1.

Matthew Stafford

The Rams took the Detroit Lions to overtime but ultimately lost. It looks like the Rams can go as far as a limping Matthew Stafford can take them.

Minnesota Viking

Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images

Fans may have witnessed Sam Darnold’s resurgence after the Vikings’ stunning victory over the Giants. The Vikings have tough opponents on offense and are a team that shouldn’t be overlooked.

CJ Strou

Christine Tannous/IndyStar/USA TODAY NETWORK

Texans quarterback CJ Stroud doesn’t appear to be in a slump in his second year. The Texans performed well against a division rival and are looking to continue their upward trend.

Chris Boswell

Beating a team without scoring a touchdown is perhaps one of the most impressive things a team can accomplish, and that’s exactly what the Steelers did. Pittsburgh’s defense can and will win them a lot of games this season.

Josh All

Tina MacIntyre-Yee/Democrat and Chronicle/USA TODAY NETWORK

Make sure the wagons are still in the circle, as the Bills’ demise may have come too soon, but Allen’s health will be crucial to the team’s success.

Baker Mayfield

Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images

Baker Mayfield has found his home in Tampa Bay. The NFC South quarterback also put in a convincing performance in the Bucs’ dominating win over the Commanders. The Bucs could make the playoffs again this season.

Tyreek Hill

The police couldn’t even stop the Dolphins on Sunday as the team beat the Jaguars in the season opener. The Dolphins have the offensive talent; now it’s time for the franchise to take the next step.

Jalen Hurt

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

The Eagles secured their Week 1 victory in the first NFL game in Brazil on Friday, but their biggest win may have been over a division rival who gave them a running back with generational talent.

Detroit Lions

Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

The old Lions name disappeared last season as the franchise earned a shot at the NFC Championship, and it seems the reigning NFC North champions are still looking for more.

Baltimore Raven

Jay Biggerstaff-Imagn Images

Did any team look better than the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1? The Ravens were just inches away from beating the defending Super Bowl champions. Something tells me the Ravens will be a team to watch all season long.

Michael Parson

Ken Blaze-Imagn Images

No defense was more destructive than the Cowboys’ in Week 1. Dallas proved they have all the tools to be one of the best teams in the league. Now it’s time to overcome the hurdle of the postseason.

Jordan Maso

Darren Yamashita – Imagn Images

The 49ers have everything a team needs to be a Super Bowl contender, and they proved that once again on Monday night.

Can the franchise avoid becoming this generation’s Buffalo Bills, the team that never seems to win the big time? Only time will tell.

Patrick Mahome

Denny Medley-Images

To be the team, you have to beat the team. The Chiefs have won two Super Bowls in a row and showed no signs of tiring after their win over Baltimore. The Chiefs will be in pole position until someone can prove they are better.
