When does early voting end in Ohio?

Early voting in Ohio ends Sunday, November 3, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s voting schedule.

When do polls open for early voting in Ohio?

Early voting polls are open from:

  • Thursday, Oct. 31: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m
  • Friday, November 1st: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m
  • Saturday November 2nd: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m
  • Sunday, November 3rd: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m

Where can I vote early?

Early in-person ballots can be dropped off at your county board of elections. Finding your polling place in Ohio is fairly easy using the Secretary of State’s website.

Sample ballots are also available on the Ohio Secretary of State website. Select your county and then enter your name to view the specific ballot for your county.

Can I submit an absentee ballot by mail? Not now, the deadline has passed

The deadline to request a postal vote was October 29th. If you have already submitted your absentee ballot by mail, you can track the progress on the Secretary of State’s website.

Can you register to vote on Election Day?

No. The deadline to register in Ohio for the November election was October 7th.

What ID do I need to vote in Ohio?

Ohio requires voters to show a valid photo ID to vote. Valid forms of identification include:

  • Ohio driver’s license
  • Ohio State ID Card
  • Temporary ID form issued by the Ohio BMV
  • A US passport
  • A US passport card
  • US military ID card
  • Ohio National Guard ID card
  • US Department of Veterans Affairs ID card

All photo IDs must contain the following:

  • An expiration date that has not expired
  • A photo of the voter
  • The voter’s name, which must substantially match the voter’s name as it appears on the electoral roll or poll book

An unexpired Ohio driver’s license, state ID, or temporary ID with your previous address is acceptable ID if your current address is listed on the poll book.
