• Jets start trading early for Davante Adams: New York still has a lot of work to do on offense at 2-4, and reuniting Adams with Aaron Rodgers is a good start.

• The Lions should be buyers: After Aidan Hutchinson’s season-ending injury, Detroit needs pass rush help.

The 2024 NFL trade deadline is fast approaching and the window closes on November 5th at 4:00 p.m. ET. Here’s how each team should handle things based on current roster status, future prospects and more.

JUMP TO A TEAM:

ARZ | ATL | BLT | BUF | CAR | CIN | CHI | CLE | DEN | DAL | DET | GB | HOU | IND | JAX | KC | LVR | LAC | LAR | MIA | MIN | NE | NO | NYG | NYJ | PHI | PIT | SF | SEA | TB | TEN | WSH

Arizona Cardinals: HOLD

The Cardinals remain a dangerous team, but they don’t appear to be a team that should go all out this season. A pass rusher could help — possibly Emmanuel Ogbah, Deatrich Wise Jr. or Jamin Davis — but this feels like a start-up year.

Atlanta Falcons: BUY

Wanting to buy and being able to buy are very different things. Atlanta has the third-worst team pressure rate (28.7%) in the NFL and desperately needs a player who can make life increasingly difficult for opposing quarterbacks. In hindsight, it could be that they traded the wrong Patriots edge rusher as an impending free agent Josh Uche could have been gotten for something sensible before his strong start to the 2024 season. Uche has a pressure rate of 18.5% this season, ranking 12th among full-backs.

Baltimore Ravens: HOLD

Does any team look as good as the Ravens right now? This squad is good enough to compete for anything and doesn’t need to make any significant moves.

Buffalo Bills: BUY

The Bills live and die Josh Allen. So make it easier for him and get a wide receiver. Davante Adams would have been a solid target, but the Jets emerged victorious in this sweepstakes. DeAndre Hopkins or Amari Cooper could be other options at wide receiver.

Carolina Panthers: SELL

The Panthers are struggling and the price they have paid for it Bryce Young has affected their ability to rebuild. Given the cap, they probably won’t buy much at the deadline, but it would be a win if they traded away some veterans.

Chicago Bears: HOLD

Whisper it, but the Bears have a solid roster. This year was about taking a step forward, but it’s quickly evolving into something more.

Cincinnati Bengals: HOLD

A big win on Sunday Night Football in Week 6 boosted the playoff hopes of a team that has no problem scoring points. They could be players who need help defensively, but that might be too big of a risk for a team with a losing record.

Cleveland Browns: SELL

Things are not going well for the Browns. Enough has been written about the deal they signed Deshaun Watson, But suddenly many players are closer to the end than the beginning of their careers. Amari Cooper, Za’Darius Smith And Shelby Harris are among the team’s potential trade candidates.

Dallas Cowboys: SELL

The Cowboys appear so far from being a contender that they need to start planning for a post-Mike McCarthy future. Before the injury, edge defender DeMarcus Lawrence seemed like a player who could help a contender and provide a decent trade return for Dallas.

Denver Broncos: BUY

Denver doesn’t have the most exciting tight end cap space, but the trade options aren’t great in that regard. Maybe a cost-effective move for Jordan Akinswho has caught 12 of his 13 goals this season, would suit all parties.

Detroit Lions: BUY

The devastating injury to the full-back Aidan Hutchinson The Lions desperately need a pass rusher. This may be the biggest decision the team will make all year, and although it appears to be the price to pay Trey Hendrickson or a Max Crosby will be too high, Haason Reddick is a fascinating option.

Green Bay Packers: BUY

Could the Packers be in the market for a wide receiver? Stranger things have happened, and DeAndre Hopkins This has to be someone the Titans would consider trading for a late Day 2 or early Day 3 draft pick. Hopkins has only scored 20 goals and caught 14 passes in six weeks, but his career trajectory is unquestionable.

Houston Texans: BUY

The Texans are contenders, and contenders should be aggressive. Finding an interior presence to provide quarterback pressure could make a difference, but the options there are limited. While the Browns Maurice Hurst Although he didn’t start the season strong, he continued to build pressure throughout his career.

Indianapolis Colts: HOLD

At 3-3, the Colts are in the trade deadline mix. But that could also just be an illusion. They seem to be fixated on the offense, except at quarterback, and when there are questions at quarterback, it’s always risky to go all-in.

Jacksonville Jaguars: SELL

This is a team that is certainly eyeing 2025 and reshaping its roster for Trevor Lawrence and likely the new head coach. Move one of them Cam RobinsonAndre Cisco or Brandon Scherff would help with reconstruction.

Kansas City Chiefs: BUY

Go and get Amari Cooper. It just makes too much sense.

Las Vegas Raiders: SELL

The mood surrounding the Raiders is not good, and that usually means the team is ready to shed assets. Max Crosby feels too important to trade away, but Davante Adams was just dealt to the Jets, so more moves could be on the way.

Los Angeles Chargers: HOLD

It feels like there isn’t all that much talk about the Chargers, and it’s hard to imagine that changing at the trade deadline.

Los Angeles Rams: SELL

When injuries decimate a team as talented as the Rams, your thoughts quickly turn to the future. Cornerback Tre’Davious White is the most obvious trade candidate, but if they could make offensive moves Joe Noteboom an impending free agent – they would accept that too.

Miami Dolphins: HOLD

The Dolphins’ season could go either way with the return of Tua Tagovailoa, so it would be premature to go all-in or give up.

Minnesota Vikings: HOLD

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The Vikings are 5-0, and introducing an unknown element into the mix might not help.

New England Patriots: SELL

The Patriots have several players set to hit free agency in 2025, one of which is a edge defender Deatrich Wise Jr. A change of scenery could do him good and bring New England something before the offseason.

New Orleans Saints: HOLD

The Saints are facing the cap and are competitive enough that they shouldn’t lose any talent. You should think long term.

New York Giants: SELL

The Giants probably won’t be competing for a playoff spot, so they should see what they can get in return Darius Slaytonne or Azeez Ojulari. Slayton is tied for eighth in receiving yards over the last three weeks, while Ojulari applied his most pressure of a season with six quarterbacks in Week 6 against the Bengals.

New York Jets: BUY

The offense just isn’t working the way it should be. The Jets have already addressed this issue by acquiring a wide receiver Davante Adams for Aaron Rodgersbut do further steps need to be taken?

Philadelphia Eagles: BUY

The Eagles may have a third receiver on their radar, and linebacker is another need. The Titans Ernest Jones would improve the unit even though he was just acquired from Tennessee this offseason.

Pittsburgh Steelers: BUY

The Steelers tried to get it Brandon Aiyuk in summer. So you have to expect them to be in the mix at wide receiver now, especially considering how much more competitive they were than expected. Could be former division rival Tyler Boyd add something to this offense? He has just 13 catches on 20 targets in 2024 and could be a trade target even though the Titans just signed him this offseason.

San Francisco 49ers: BUY

Nick Bosa And Fred Warner can hide a lot of things, but there are some glaring issues in the 49ers’ secondary. A solid veteran like Panthers safety Xavier Woods – who has an overall grade of 61.9 PFF through six weeks – could be a solution.

Seattle Seahawks: BUY

Tackle Charles Cross has started the year well, but outside of him, the Seahawks’ offensive line is worrisome. Seattle could make a big move by taking advantage of the Jaguars’ struggles and trading for a soon-to-be free agent Cam Robinson.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: BUY

The Buccaneers have a great chance to win the NFC South, but are struggling a bit on their defensive line. Trade for the Titans Sebastian Joseph daywhose 11 appearances this season rank fifth among central defenders, could help.

Tennessee Titans: SELL

This season doesn’t seem to be productive for the Titans, so they could start preparing for 2025. Players like DeAndre HopkinsErnest Jones and Tyler Boyd everything could be postponed.

Washington Commander: BUY

Secondary help is desperately needed in Washington, and the leading candidate is the Rams. Tre’Davious White. Injuries have taken a toll on Los Angeles’ roster, so the team can look to the future.
