What happened to Carlton Davis III? Lions CB in pain after dropping Matthew Stafford’s interception

The game between the Lions and the Rams was nerve-wracking throughout. After much difficulty, the teams managed to tie the game and Matthew Stafford got another chance to score, but failed. Stafford’s pass was intended for Cooper Kupp, but he threw it too far and paid the price. The pass was almost intercepted by Carlton Davis, but he dropped it.

However, his attempt to intercept Matthew Stafford was problematic. He jumped to get the ball in his hands but dropped it, injuring himself in the process. Watson dropped the catch in mid-air, fell flat on his stomach and most likely injured himself. He looked frustrated at the dropped pass and was slow to get up.

The Lions staff gathered around him and there is no clear verdict yet on an injury. This happened when the game was tied 20-20 and Matthew Stafford had all the pressure on his shoulders to score the first and then some on the first and 10th play with 12 seconds left in the game. It’s safe to say Stafford was unsuccessful. But despite the failed attempt, Davis made some significant contributions to the game.

This is his first year with the Lions after the Buccaneers traded him for a second-round pick in the 2024 draft. In today’s game, the cornerback totaled 10 tackles, including 6 solo tackles. But there was another highlight in the game involving Carlton Davis III, and he didn’t look good in coverage. In this game, Davis was able to face his former teammate, WR Tyler Johnson, who now plays for the Rams.

Johnson completely cleared the Lions cornerback as he came to a quick stop while Davis followed. As Johnson stopped, Davis couldn’t control his movement and slipped, allowing the Rams receiver to make a huge 63-yard play. The Lions defense was amazing to say the least, and that wasn’t the only big play Carlton Davis III made.

Carlton Davis devastates the LA Rams

The former Super Bowl winner couldn’t let the Rams’ offense slide. Another big pass interference from Davis with 6:35 left in the second quarter. It was a fourth-and-four situation, so naturally Stafford got a little nervous. But it was almost as if Davis could read Stafford’s mind.

about Imago

The Rams’ Super Bowl-winning QB took a few steps back, surveyed the field and threw the ball to Cooper Kupp, who was unable to stop the cornerback. Davis threw in, but again dropped the ball and was visibly upset about it. Hopefully he didn’t sustain a serious injury and will play in the next game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What do you think about the Lions’ defense against the Rams? Let us know in the comments.
