DAN LANNING

– “I think we showed what we’re capable of and I still look at that game and say, ‘Man, there’s so many opportunities’ where they can get better.

– I had the feeling that they were able to make a breakthrough in the second half

— “There are a lot of things we can improve on.” Excited about the behavior after the game. Must tackle better.

– During the shutout: A lot of guys are ready for their moment when their number is called.

– In defense: Lots of positive aspects. Takeaways created. But I have to tackle it better.

— Run defense: “We have to be better at it to be what we want to be.” Some of it was because Purdue was so dedicated to the run game.

— Away game in a short week: I thought the preparation was good.

– On-run offense: Some were taken away by Purdue, which changed its front from bear to four-down.

— On Terrance Ferguson: Had an appendectomy this week. Expects his return “relatively soon.”
