New Delhi: Unlike in the past, phone cases are not just for safety, but are trendy and unique pieces that express the personality and preferences of the user. In the viral video, a woman is seen sitting in a restaurant chatting on her phone. Then the cameraman zooms in on the woman’s phone case. The case has a maze-like pattern with several ants inside. The video was captioned “This woman has an ant farm as her phone case.”

Netizens were quick to comment. “Some people have no compassion and that’s sad,” one said. Another said, “Even though they can’t feel pain like we can, the heat still denatures the protein in their tiny bodies and it’s still animal cruelty.” A third person claimed, “Let’s do better. Not a suitable home for ants. Take it from someone who loves ants very much… like really, really much.” Another said, “‘This is cruel’ is what people say who step on ants every time they go outside.” One netizen said, “Dude WHAT?! You’re all kidding, this shit is fucking bad! You have men in mesh tops and they get 50,000 likes but a woman with an ant farm phone case gets hate. This is fucking original and cute.”

The clip has been viewed 13 million times.
