Wednesday morning near record low, only isolated showers until the end of the week

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Humidity has dropped, keeping it pleasantly cool for the next few morning hours and even the afternoon. Enjoy the sunshine now, as we’ll see slight changes with clouds and even a few isolated showers toward the end of the week.

Use our WVLT First Alert Weather app for iPhone or Android to stay informed on the go and between newscasts. We share custom videos and you can receive our messages on the latest conditions and forecast.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You’ll want to pack a light jacket and coats when you head out the door on Wednesday morning, as we’re experiencing the coldest temperatures in months. Temperatures will hit record lows in some areas, dropping to 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. Temperatures could even briefly drop to 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in some higher elevations.

There will be plenty of sunshine throughout the afternoon, and temperatures will remain slightly below normal for the time being thanks to northerly winds and low humidity. Highs on Wednesday will be just under 27 degrees, with a light breeze from the north. However, things will slowly start to change towards the end of the week as humidity increases again.

OUTLOOK

Clouds will slowly return as we approach Thursday and Friday, with slightly higher dew points, and there could also be a few isolated showers, especially at higher elevations. The chance of rain remains low, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning on doing anything outdoors.

Summer isn’t quite over yet, though, as warmer weather returns toward the end of the WVLT First Alert 8-day planner.
