Good evening! We got over an inch of rain in Cincinnati this morning, more than double our entire month to date! Since then, skies have cleared up a bit and temperatures have climbed back up to 80 degrees with high humidity. The chance for showers and thunderstorms isn’t quite over, though. Expect a few isolated showers and thunderstorms in the area tonight — especially early in the morning — as a few more weather disturbances move through the Tri-State region. That said, not everyone will see the rain, but where you do see it, it could be briefly heavy. It looks like most of this activity will end before midnight, with temperatures climbing back up to 60 degrees by morning. A cold front slowly moving across the area on Saturday, along with a weak low pressure wave moving along it, will trigger more isolated showers and thunderstorms. Some of these could even be strong to severe, mainly south and east of downtown Cincinnati Saturday afternoon, with the main threat coming from heavy rain and isolated, destructive wind gusts. But those storms will move east of the area by Saturday evening, and the rest of the night looks to be quiet. Cooler air moves in behind that front on Sunday, but there’s still the chance of some scattered showers and isolated storms, mainly Sunday afternoon. Cooler, less humid air will finally return on Monday, and that’s expected to lead to a quiet period of weather into next week.
