Weather blog: Fantastic autumn weather continues

For the first time in a long time, we’re breaking out the coats with the first fall frost in parts of Green Country!

What’s the forecast for the rest of the week?

Another potentially frosty morning lies ahead on Thursday as lows fall back into the mid to upper 30s. Some areas near the Oklahoma/Arkansas state line could experience light frost Thursday morning. On Thursday, southerly winds return with another fantastic afternoon as highs reach the 70-degree mark again.

Next seven days

A steady warming trend will continue Friday into the weekend as we maintain a southerly wind component. We’ll reach the mid 70s again on Friday and the upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday. So if you have outdoor plans, you’re in really good shape!

Unfortunately, any significant chance of rain is still very low. We will have at least a small chance of showers on Monday as a fast-moving storm system moves across our viewing area, although it is unlikely to bring good amounts of precipitation to eastern Oklahoma. We’re seeing signs of a further increase in significantly warmer temperatures next week, so enjoy the fall weather while we have it!
