You can definitely say that Inside Out 2 was a huge success. When Pixar came onto the market and arguably needed a major commercial success, the film not only achieved the studio’s best box office numbers – it also became the biggest animated film of all time, grossing a whopping $1.69 billion in theaters. It remains to be seen how this success will affect the studio in the future – fans are always wary that the number of sequels from Pixar does not exceed that of the original projects that made the studio a name for itself.

They are open to another film,” says Mann. “They want to make sure we live up to it. But people are excited to see Riley’s life – her whole life. Especially because the movie came out and I took a break,” laughs Mann. “But there are so many great ideas that we couldn’t incorporate into this film or the original.
