Watch Oklahoma vs Texas game today: channel, time, streaming information

It’s a staple of the college football season and one of the few things fans can rely on in a sport that’s changing so quickly it’s unrecognizable.

On one of the first weekends in October, Oklahoma and Texas will meet on the same field to fight one of the fiercest and most traditional rivalries in sports.

It’s that time again.

This weekend, the Sooners and Longhorns will face off in the latest edition of the Red River Rivalry in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

In their first season in the SEC, Texas and Oklahoma enter as top 20 teams in the US LBM Coaches Poll, with the former ranked No. 1 and the latter ranked No. 16. Coach Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns will enter the game this year with a chance for some revenge after a surprising 34-30 loss to the Sooners last season, which was Texas’ only loss of the regular season en route to a Big -12 championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

At least the game should be exciting. Of the last eleven meetings between the bitter opponents, nine were decided by one point.

Oklahoma vs. Texas Predictions, Tips, Odds

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Thursday, October 10th

Justin Martinez, The Oklahoman: Texas 31, Oklahoma 17

“Both teams have strong defenses, but Texas is far more reliable on offense than OU. Whether it’s Quinn Ewers or Arch Manning at quarterback, the Longhorns have consistently found ways to average 45 points per game. And OU appears to have found its quarterback in Michael Hawkins Jr., injuries at wide receiver and a nonexistent running game will prevent it from keeping up on the scoreboard.”

Cedric Golden, American statesman from Austin: Texas 35, Oklahoma 17

“The Sooners have a great defense but won’t be able to keep up with the Longhorns. Quinn Ewers comes back and shakes off early rust to keep SEC title run on track.”

Bill Bender, The Sporting News: Texas 31, Oklahoma 21

“The Red River Rivalry has tremendous scope. Texas beat Oklahoma 49-0 in 2022 with Quinn Ewers as a freshman, so elimination is possible if OU quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. doesn’t find some consistency in the passing game. The Sooners are allowing just 2.6 yards per carry with a defense led by Danny Stutsman — and if they can make Texas one-dimensional, there’s a chance. This collapse in 2022 was the anomaly.”

  • Opportunities: Texas (-14.5)
  • Over/under: 48.5 points
