Stevie Nicks’ triumphant return to Saturday Night Live arrived 41 years after her first and only other appearance on the show, in 1983 as a solo artist. Fleetwood Mac never played SNL. “The Lighthouse” was created after the overturn of Roe v. Wade through the Supreme Court and describes Nicks herself as “perhaps the most important thing I have ever done: standing up for the women of the United States and their daughters and granddaughters.” It is her first original song since “Show Them the Way ” from 2020 and her album from 2014 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault.

This was Grande’s second time hosting SNLafter the 2016 episode, in which she also took on the dual role of musical guest. She also made her debut as a musical guest in 2014 and sang again in March 2024.
