Warming up this work week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Our warming trend began this afternoon, with temperatures near seasonable this afternoon on another day of dry conditions and plenty of sunshine. Expect clear skies, calm conditions and cooler temperatures again in the Valley this evening and tonight. Out-of-door temperatures Monday will start in the low 40s in some of our normally cooler locations, the mid to upper 40s in much of the Valley, and near 50 degrees in Columbus. In the afternoon, temperatures will fall back into the upper 70s to lower 80s on both Monday and Tuesday on days with plenty of sunshine and dry conditions.

Thanks to high pressure and wave formation in the air, we can expect dry conditions to continue throughout the work week and skies to remain sunny to mostly sunny. Afternoon temperatures will continue to rise, reaching low to mid 80s across the board by Thursday. A dry front will move through in the second half of the week to reinforce the drier air. Currently, during the month of October, Columbus Airport only received 0.11″ of rain on the 6th. There may be a small chance of showers returning towards the end of the month, but we will continue to keep you updated.
