Virginia Women’s Basketball announces schedule for 2024-25 non-league season

Virginia’s nonconference schedule for the 2024-2025 women’s basketball season was announced Wednesday and includes eight home games at John Paul Jones Arena, three neutral-site matchups at the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout in San Juan and a tough road game at Oklahoma, a No. 5 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Before the season begins, Virginia will host Barton College (Division II) for a preseason game on Thursday, October 31. This Halloween scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.

The Cavaliers will open their third season under head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton on Monday, November 4 against American before heading to Oklahoma for the aforementioned challenging matchup on Friday, November 8. UVA will then return to Charlottesville for four consecutive home games against Radford, La Salle, Alabama State and Bethune-Cookman.

During Thanksgiving week, Virginia will play three games in as many days in the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout at Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan. Virginia will face Green Bay on Nov. 28, Washington State on the 29 and Wyoming on the 30. All games are free for anyone traveling to Puerto Rico, but can only be viewed online with a paid subscription to FloHoops.

Virginia then hosts Auburn in the second annual ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 5 before taking a break for final exams, followed by its final two non-league games against Maryland-Eastern Shore on Dec. 17 and Coppin State on Dec. 21.

The Virginia women’s basketball team’s full schedule for the 2024-2025 season, as well as details on kickoff times and television broadcasts, will be announced at a later date.
