Violent NFL brawl between Raiders and Chargers fans: Woman is knocked to the ground, man left bleeding and unconscious

Fan violence has begun to taint the NFL just a week into the 2024 season, when the Las Vegas Raiders’ appearance at SoFi Stadium left fans bleeding and unconscious.

The Los Angeles Chargers opened their season at home on Sunday with an AFC West division game against the Raiders, but brutal tackles occurred even before the players stepped on the field.

Before kickoff of the Week 1 game, a shockingly violent mass brawl broke out between rival fans outside the stadium in Los Angeles.

Two Raiders fans were caught fighting with a man wearing a Rams jersey, but the fans’ loyalty seemed to be worth nothing. One of the Las Vegas fans wearing Crosby’s number 99 jersey was even seen throwing a few punches at his fellow fan.

He and the Rams fan managed to pull the man – who was wearing a Deablo number 5 jersey – to the ground, where they began kicking and punching him in brutal, sickening scenes.

After they were finally dragged away, the man could be seen lying on the dusty ground, seemingly unconscious and with blood running down his face.

A woman wearing a strapless black top threw herself on the back of his Raiders attacker and dragged him backwards toward the metal bollard while attempting to land a few punches in his side.

However, the female admirer quickly became a victim when the man amazingly shook her off in a fight on the ground and then threw her to the ground with a body shuffle.

While the brunette woman managed to stagger to her feet, two men were seen checking on the unconscious Vegas fan who was still lying flat on the ground. One was holding his wrist and feeling his pulse.

The sickening, violent scenes mark a continuation of the epidemic that gripped the NFL last season.

Last year, fan violence at NFL games throughout the stadium got out of control. Last October, there were several physical altercations between Raiders and Chargers fans at SoFi Stadium.

In the first of these brawls, a Raiders fan was punched several times before being thrown down the stairs by a Chargers rival, and the shocking clip went viral on social media.

Footage of two other fights from the game circulated online, including an ugly scuffle between two female Raiders fans.

In September 2023, a fan even died after a fight at a New England Patriots game.

53-year-old Patriots fan Dale Mooney collapsed and died after being punched by a Dolphins fan at Gillette Stadium.

NBC10 obtained disturbing footage showing the father of two and longtime Patriots ticket holder, who was wearing Jones’ No. 10 jersey, being punched by a Dolphins fan.

The blow struck home and witnesses said Mooney fell to the ground moments later during the large brawl. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

However, an autopsy revealed that Mooney was not directly killed by the blow from the Dolphins fans, but may have succumbed to an unspecified “medical problem.”

The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said an autopsy revealed a medical problem that may have contributed to his death.

District Attorney Michael Morrissey confirmed that this incident may have contributed to his death, but the case requires further investigation.

The Giants, 49ers, Bengals, Commanders, Rams, Broncos, Ravens and Seahawks also had ugly scenes last year – in the stands or around the stadium – that went viral.

A 2023 survey found that nearly 40 percent of NFL fans have witnessed crime in or around an NFL stadium; about one in 14 have been victims themselves. Nowhere have fans witnessed more unrest (63 percent) than at Lincoln Financial Field – home of the Philadelphia Eagles. The most commonly observed crime? Physical violence.

Less than two percent of Colts fans said they would have no concerns about allowing their children into Lucas Oil Stadium unaccompanied. Across all 32 teams, that figure was 77 percent.

Nearly three-quarters of female Lions fans (74 percent) admitted they wouldn’t feel comfortable alone at Ford Field; league-wide, the figure was 45 percent. And yet perhaps the most striking feature of this wave of violence is the number of women perpetrating violence.
