Vinicius Jr.: Ballon d’Or favorite promises Real Madrid future, Brazilian superstar “wants to stay forever”

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. has committed his future to Spanish giants Real Madrid, dismissing reported interest from the Saudi Pro League.

After reports emerged over the summer that the Brazilian was the subject of an offer from Saudi clubs, the striker made his intentions clear after Tuesday’s win.

“I’m only 24. I want to stay here forever and contribute as much as possible to this team that has given me everything since I arrived here,” said the Brazilian.

“(Carlo) Ancelotti told me to keep going so I can always do more. But we have to improve and play like this from the start, otherwise the coach won’t be able to do it.”

Madrid came from two goals down to beat Dortmund to claim their second Champions League win of the season, following their opening win against Stuttgart and a loss to Lille in their last game.

Vinicius, who scored when Madrid and Dortmund met in last season’s final at Wembley as the Spanish team won their 15th title, added: “This is our competition and we want to win it again.”

Vasquez: Vini Champions League performance “one you can show the kids”

Vinicius’ goals against Dortmund took him to the Champions League this season.

His first goal came in the 62nd minute to complete the comeback and equalize, two minutes after Antonio Rüdiger had halved the deficit.

In the closing stages, Vinicius scored his hat-trick with a quick brace and ensured the points stayed in the Spanish capital.

Stand-in captain Lucas Vazquez scored the goal to give Madrid the lead and praised after the game the role played by “the most decisive player in the world” in the turnaround.

“Vini Jr. had an incredible second half,” he said. “It’s about showing the kids how football should be played, with that intensity and drive to score goals.”

“He showed once again that he is the most decisive player in the world, he had an incredible second half.”

Madrid director Emilio Butragueno was also taken aback by the winger’s performance and drew a stark comparison as he recalled Vinicius’ third goal which capped a memorable evening at the Bernabeu.

“It reminded me of Pele,” Butragueno claimed. “It’s a great goal. The way he ran, the way he faked dribbling past the defender. A great goal.”

“For those of us who love football, it is a vindication to come here to the Bernabeu and that a player can offer a game that evokes many emotions, including admiration.”
