The traitors gave Peacock its first win as top program at the Emmys.

The win for the Peacock competition series comes after Alan Cumming won the trophy for reality competition host at last year’s Creative Emmys. Guest Actress in a Comedy Series won for Poker Faces Judith Light.

“Thank you to the Academy. We are so grateful because our show is new and you know when you like something you stick with it. That’s good quality, but we appreciate it all the more,” said Cumming, accepting the Emmy.

Cumming also thanked Peacock “for their kindness and support,” adding, “It’s so great to be part of a new streaming service. We love them.”

The traitors was nominated against The amazing race, Top chef, The voice, And RuPaul’s Drag Racethe most awarded reality program in Emmy itstory. It is also the second time that the Academy has honored a streamer, after Prime Video for Lizzo’s “Watch Out For The Big Girls” in 2022.

Cumming also thanked everyone at the castle where they filmed The traitors praise to “the cast and crew who work so hard and get so wet in the Scottish weather.”

“I’d also like to thank Scotland. I owe it everything and it’s such a wonderful co-star,” said Cumming. “I also want to thank Holland because I think we don’t thank Holland enough because so many of these shows, like The traitors, were first published in Holland. They obviously have something in the water, so let’s find it. Let’s drink it and all of America’s problems will be solved.”
