Venom 3’s post-credits scenes, explained

“Venom: The Last Dance” is finally here.

The latest – and possibly definitive? – In the movie “Venom,” Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom (also Hardy) are on the run from a government agency (led by Chiwetel Ejiofor) and a bunch of crazy aliens sent by a sinister space deity named Knull (Andy). become Serkis). Knull is locked in a prison on a deserted planet and needs a symbiote and host to be freed – which means he needs Eddie and Venom to escape. In order for them to keep Knull in place, either Venom or Eddie will have to go.

But as we know, comic book movies tend to have a story that continues into the opening credits. Does “Venom: The Last Dance” have a post-credits scene? And what happens in the sequences?

Big spoiler warning. Seriously. We open Christmas presents early. Watch the film and come back afterwards.

Does “Venom: The Last Dance” have a mid-credits scene?

It does.

Does “Venom: The Last Dance” have a post-credits scene?

It does.

First, let’s talk about the mid-credits scene.

In order.

Tell us about it!

This is the larger scene. This is the aforementioned villain Knull, now known as the “King in Black” (which comic book fans will understand as a Marvel-wide initiative). While he still appears to be trapped, he rises from his throne. This is the moment where you can get a much better look at Knull.

Anything else about this scene?

It really looks like they’re making Knull the big bad for Sony’s constellation of Spider-Man-related villains. There’s a lot of “early Thanos” energy in the series.

What about the post-credits scene?

The post-credits sequence revisits the Mexican bartender (played by “Ted Lasso” breakout Cristo Fernández) who was introduced at the end of the last “Venom” film, “Let There Be Carnage.” In this film he returns and is kidnapped by Strickland (Ejiofor) at the beginning of “Venom: The Last Dance” and forced into the secret government program. That little bit of slime Eddie left on the bar? Strickland grabs this too.

Anyway, at the end of “Venom: The Last Dance,” essentially the entire secret government base is destroyed, first by the alien monsters hunting Venom, and then by a huge explosion that Strickland sets off, destroying the creatures called symbiotes ( including Venom), destroyed) and more. (Eddie Brock manages to escape, as does the scientist played by Juno Temple.) In the post-credits scene, the bartender is seen wandering through the smoldering ruins of the lab and a brief shot of a cockroach pouncing on them who survives the devastation (duh) is an open evil that may have had symbiote residue? Is Venom Bug a possible spin-off? Who knows!

Do the mid-credits and post-credits scenes hint at further “Venom” adventures?

Definitely. There have been a number of characters who have bonded with the symbiote. Even though this is the last time we’ll see Eddie Brock, we’re pretty sure Venom will be back.

“Venom: The Last Dance” is in theaters now.
