Varun Dhawan’s appeal to the paparazzi

Varun’s post reads, “It is extremely insensitive to point cameras at the faces of grieving people. Please (folded hands emoji) think about what you are doing or what someone is going through when you do this. I understand this is work but sometimes another human being may not agree with (folded hands emoji)…humanity.”

Internet reacts to Varun’s contribution to paparazzi culture

One person commented on a post on Varun’s remark shared on Reddit: “So true…Serious laws should be imposed on these paparazzi like what happened to Siddharth Shukla.”

Another wrote, “Considering how PR-driven pap culture has become, I hate them already. But taking pictures of someone when there is a death in the family is just scavenger behavior. Also reminds me of the time Rakhi Sawant posted the video of Ranbir performing Rishi Kapoor’s last rites. So, they are not model human beings but they respect celebrity privacy, boss.”

One Redditor also commented, “I want to say so many things but I’m just going to keep my mouth shut and hope the paparazzi get a life. It’s not always about attention, money and reach! It’s upsetting and sad considering what happened. Why don’t people understand the concept of privacy, space and respect for the dead!”

When one Redditor noted, “Most of these celebs pay paparazzi, they should be held accountable first,” another responded, saying, “There is a line between business and ethics. Paying paparazzi is part of business, but paparazzi getting involved during a tragedy is against ethics.”

The father of Malaika and Amrita Arora died on Wednesday. He leaves behind Malaika, Amrita and their mother Joyce Polycarp.
