Utah Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks suffered a horrific broken leg in the game against the Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks hosted the Utah Jazz at the American Airlines Center on Monday night. Taylor Hendricks, the Jazz’s 2023 first-round pick, started the game at forward for Utah.

Midway through the third quarter, Hendricks suffered a horrific leg injury. Hendricks was running across the floor on offense when he took a wrong step and sort of fell, trapping his right leg underneath him and breaking it.

UPDATE: Hendricks suffered a fractured right fibula and will undergo further testing tomorrow in Utah.

The reaction online and in the stadium said it all as he was treated and carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

You can see the injury here, but be warned, it is very bad.

The 20-year-old Hendricks was selected with the ninth pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after averaging 15.1 points and 7.0 rebounds for a season at UCF. Last season, he bounced between the Jazz and the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League. He played 40 games for Utah, starting 23 of them.
