USF is hosting a hurricane relief food drive at Saturday’s football game

To help those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, USF is partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay to host a food drive at Raymond James Stadium before Saturday’s game against UAB.

Starting three hours before kickoff at 3:30 p.m., fans who donate three or more non-perishable items will receive a voucher for two free tickets to a Bulls home game of their choice, including on Saturday. USF student-athletes will collect the donations in Bulls Bay (the south plaza in front of the stadium).

Feeding Tampa Bay, a nonprofit hunger relief organization with agency partners in 10 counties in West Central Florida, is looking for items such as canned goods, dry goods and miscellaneous supplies such as disinfectant wipes, packaged plastic utensils, toiletries and trash bags.

“In one way or another, these hurricanes have affected all of us in the Tampa Bay area, and we are proud to offer our support to all those affected,” USF athletic director Michael Kelly said in a statement released by the university. “Our community is strong. I know that by working together we can make a significant contribution to supporting those affected by hurricanes Milton and Helene.”

Video messages during the game will provide fans with several other opportunities to donate to the victims of the storm. Among them: the USF Foundation’s United Support Fund, which helps USF students affected by the hurricanes.
