Tyreek Hill shocked by Xavier Worthy’s first Chiefs touchdown

The Kansas City Chiefs have wasted no time in getting rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy acclimated to the NFL regular season.

On their first offensive drive of the 2024 season, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid brought in a wide receiver in the red zone for the rookie wideout, who carried the ball 21 yards and scored a touchdown.

Worthy’s speed was on prime time display, impressing fans and scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this season. The rookie wide receiver’s quick hit caught the attention of former Chiefs and current Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill.

After Worthy’s first NFL touchdown, Hill posted on Twitter/X: “The boy is rolling, oh my god.”

The former Chiefs receiver knows a thing or two about speed, as he is one of the fastest players in the NFL. Hill wowed fans in Kansas City for several years with his game-winning speed that led to big plays in the passing game.

Still, Chiefs fans are hoping Worthy can follow in Hill’s footsteps and prove to be a major threat to lead Kansas City’s offense into next season.

In his final year at the University of Texas, the 6-foot-1 wide receiver caught 75 balls for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns. During his three-year career with the Longhorns, Worthy averaged 14 yards per pass.

If Worthy can repeat that in his rookie season, Chiefs fans and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be happy. Still, if you’re Worthy, you couldn’t ask for a better start.
