Tyreek Hill reacts to Chiefs’ reunion with Kareem Hunt

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a significant loss on offense when running back Isiah Pacheco suffered a broken fibula. Pacheco’s injury will keep him out of action for at least 6-8 weeks, which will impact Kansas City’s running back lineup.

Without Pacheco, the Chiefs could have turned to Samaje Perine and Carson Steele to buy time in the backfield, but Kansas City decided to bring back a familiar face, signing Kareem Hunt to the practice squad on Tuesday.

Chiefs fans were happy to see Hunt back in Kansas City, where he spent the first two years of his career. In addition to the fans, a former KC player who had the opportunity to play with the veteran running back was also happy to see him again.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill posted on Twitter on Tuesday: “My boy Kareem is back in KC, I love it.”

Hill played with Hunt in 2017 and 2018, helping Kansas City to 10 and 12 wins, respectively. As a rookie in 2017, Hunt had 1,782 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns. Hill had 75 receptions (105 targets) for 1,183 yards and seven touchdowns in his second NFL season.

In 2018, Hunt managed 1,202 yards from the offensive line and scored a total of 14 touchdowns (a career high). Hill, on the other hand, continued to develop into one of the best playmakers in the league. The speedy wide receiver caught 87 balls (137 balls were caught) for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns.

As we all know, Hunt was placed on the NFL’s exempt list in December 2018 and released by Kansas City a few days later.

The former third-round pick signed with the Cleveland Browns in February 2019, where he would spend the final five years of his career. Chiefs fans would have loved to see what the core of Hunt, Hill, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce could have accomplished in 2018.

However, in 2024, they will get another chance to see Hunt in the Chiefs uniform as he tries to help them win another division title and the Super Bowl.
