Tyra Banks made her runway comeback at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but it felt different than her previous experiences.

“What was different is that my boobs were about 10 times bigger because I was about 40 to 50 pounds heavier on that runway than when I retired,” Banks, 50, joked on the episode of ” The Drew Barrymore Show. “So I thought, ‘Don’t fall out, don’t fall out.'”

Banks, a fixture on the Victoria’s Secret runway since the ’90s, retired from the runway in 2005. She came out of retirement for the show on Tuesday, October 15, where she completed the presentation.

“When I went for a walk — and talked to my husband about it — I usually walked alone,” Banks recalled telling the host Drew Barrymore. “When I was a model, I walked alone and retired almost 20 years ago, but this time when I walked the Victoria’s Secret runway, I felt like everyone was inside me.”

She continued: “Fifty-year-old women, insecure women; I just felt like there was more. I watch the playback and I’m like, “Boom, boom, boom.” I stomped because I felt like I was a vessel and because it wasn’t just about me. It was different.”

Banks strolled the runway in a black sparkly bra with a matching corset, leggings and a long cape.

Last month, Banks teased via TikTok that it feels “immensely good” to be back on the road for the lingerie brand.

“To be honest, I never thought I would be on this runway again. I remember – what it was like 19 years ago – and I was like, ‘This is it,'” the supermodel said in her September social media post. “And I remember all the press: ‘Tyra’s…last…walk.’ It was so over the top and I thought, ‘I’m out.'”

Banks continued at the time: “My last walk was this red outfit and I had these medals around my waist. “I had super long hair, insanely long eyelashes and this scepter with ‘V’ written on it in my hand, and when I was at the end “I got to the end of the runway, I kissed it and then I lifted it and started pumping, pumping and in. In my head I thought, ‘I’m out.’ But you pulled me back in.”

“I think it has a lot to do with my mother (Carolyn London). “You know, I was once very, very thin and awkward and I was miserable about it,” Banks shared exclusively Us in March 2020. “She helped me get through it and told me that this skinny body wasn’t my whole worth and that one day it would gain some weight and everything would be okay.”

She added: “And then I gained weight, and then the fashion industry said it was too big, and she was there saying, ‘They’re not going to define you.’ You won’t lose weight for these people. Let’s find out another clientele. Let’s find someone who will appreciate who you are and who you are becoming.’”
