Tucker Carlson reveals his wild conspiracy theory that abortion causes hurricanes

Donald Trump ally Tucker Carlson has spread a wild conspiracy theory that abortion is “probably” the cause of hurricanes.

The former Fox News host appeared on Steve Bannon’s MAGAWar room podcast on the eve of the election, in which he dismissed scientific evidence that the extreme weather event was linked to climate change, instead theorizing that abortion was a “consequence” of “human sacrifice.”

“I’m sure I’ll get attacked for this, but I really believe it,” Carlson began.

“People say, ‘Well, we had another hurricane, it must be global warming.’ NO! Actually, it’s probably an abortion.”

“You can’t kill children intentionally,” he added. “You can’t engage in human sacrifice without consequences.”

Carlson appeared on the podcast a week after Bannon was released from prison after serving a sentence on two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with the House committee investigating the unrest in the US. Capitol on January 6th investigated.

The comments come after two deadly hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated parts of the southeastern United States. Hurricane Milton was the strongest late-season storm in the Gulf of Mexico and the strongest hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico since Hurricane Rita in 2005.

Climate change has contributed to the problem, causing hurricanes to bring more intense rainfall and increased storm surges from rising seas. According to the nonprofit Climate Central, air can retain an additional 4 percent of moisture for every degree of global warming.

The organization World Weather Attribution, originally funded by Climate Central, said that fossil fuel burning made elevated sea surface temperatures during Helene’s track 200 to 500 times more likely than would otherwise have been the case.

Carlson has become a key player in the Trump campaign’s fight for re-election. The right-wing pundit has interviewed the former president several times and spoke at his Madison Square Garden rally last weekend, where he incorrectly referred to Kamala Harris as “Samoan-Malaysian.”

“It’s going to be pretty hard to look at us and say, ‘You know what? “Kamala Harris got 85 million votes because she is so impressive as the first low-IQ Samoan-Malaysian former California prosecutor ever elected president,” he told the crowd.

Carlson then met with Trump last Thursday at a campaign event in Glendale, Arizona, where the former president called former Republican representative Liz Cheney, who has endorsed Harris, a “radical war hawk.”

“Let’s put them there with a nine-barreled gun shooting at them, okay?” Trump said. “And let’s see how she feels about it, you know, with the guns pointed at her face.”
