Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayle Nicole has spoken out about the hate she’s received since the NFL star began his relationship with Taylor Swift.

During an episode of NBA star Angel Reese Unapologetic angel On the podcast, which aired on October 10, Nicole shared her candid reaction to online criticism from Swift’s fans last year.

“I would be lying if I said that this level of hate and just the chaos online doesn’t affect me,” said the sportswriter, who dated the Kansas City Chiefs star on and off from 2017 to 2022. “It does. Til today.”

She then pointed to one of her Instagram posts and described how the comments were filled with negative remarks about her.

“People will discuss why I’m worthless and why I’ll never be a talented person,” she explained. “And I don’t have a career, and I’m a bum.”

After acknowledging that she ultimately had “nothing to do with the Swifties’ comments about her,” she still noted that the criticism stemmed from her being in the public eye.

“I think there’s something about that level of notoriety that attracts crazy people. And it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash,” Nicole continued.

When Reese asked her if she would ever have a public relationship again, Nicole said no. “I don’t think I’ll be doing that any time soon,” she said. “People can’t find out what they don’t know about, and I would just protect my relationships from now on.”

This isn’t the first time Nicole has addressed the criticism she’s received since Swift began dating Kelce in 2023. Earlier this month, she responded to an X account (formerly Twitter) that posted a picture of Nicole without makeup. The account sarcastically wrote, “Very pretty,” and added a vomit emoji.

Nicole responded to the post with a blunt comment, writing: “You’ll never make me hate myself. Hang it upppppppp, bookies.”

In April, she also took to X to ask trolls to leave her alone, hours before Swift released her 11th album. The Tortured Poets Department. “I am unproblematic. Mind my business,” she wrote. “Never respond to the constant vitriol. As solid as they are, don’t expect a pat on the back for it.”

Nicole concluded, “I just know that everyone has a breaking point and I would love to leave me alone (because you know exactly who you are).”

Nicole’s recent comments on dating come amid Kelce’s highly publicized relationship with Swift. The couple began dating in 2023 after Kelce confessed on his podcast that he tried to give Swift a bracelet with his phone number on it at her Eras tour show in Kansas City, but was unsuccessful. After months of speculation, Swift officially confirmed this Time — when she was named the publication’s Person of the Year in December 2023 — that she and Kelce were in a relationship.

Since then, the couple has continued to make headlines as the “Fortnight” singer cheered him on at Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ game against the New Orleans Saints earlier this week. She also attended his first two games of the NFL season last month, which were in Missouri.

However, her return to Arrowhead Stadium on October 7th came after missing two of Kelce’s away games. She’s also nearing the end of the two-month break on her Eras tour, as she’ll return to the stage on October 18 in Miami, Florida. The record-breaking tour officially ends this year with its final show on December 8th in Vancouver, Canada.
