A viral post showed a manager’s insensitive reaction after his employee survived a serious car accident.

An inconsiderate boss can have a negative impact not only on your work life, but also on your mental health. Some toxic bosses can even go a step too far and completely disregard the pain or hurt of their team members.

One such manager’s reaction to his employee’s accident went viral on social media. In a post on X, user @kirawontmiss shared a screenshot of a conversation between an employee and a manager after the manager survived a car accident.

“What would you say if your boss said that?” reads the caption.

The screenshot showed a series of text messages between the two people, which began with the employee sending the manager a photo of his car completely crushed at the front. Based on its mangled appearance, it is clear that the car was in a terrible accident.

Instead of asking what happened or how the employee was doing, the manager simply replies, “Keep me updated on when you expect to be here.”

The next SMS comes a day later when the manager receives no response to his previous SMS. “It’s understandable why you’re late, but whatever prevents you from being at work, other than a death in the family, is unexcused in any company,” the manager wrote. “Managers like that scare me”

The post, which has been viewed almost 11 million times, infuriated users across X who were shocked by the manager’s reaction to a potentially life-threatening accident.

“Managers like that scare me. Is your life that miserable?!” wrote one user.

Another user shared a similar story in which he told his boss about an illness. “I told my manager I had Covid and he said he didn’t believe me,” he said. (Also Read: ‘Worst Founder in India’: This ‘Greedy’ CEO Gets Dubious Honor from Reddit)

“This happened to me at my last job. My boss asked me if I was okay and told me to let him know if I needed anything. It costs nothing to be cool to people,” said a third user.
