Toronto Blue Jays Fans Heat Up Organization to “X” After Teoscar Hernandez’s Viral Home

The Los Angeles Dodgers advanced to the National League Championship Series on Friday night after defeating the San Diego Padres in Game 5 of the National League Division Series.

Thanks to a great start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the work of four relievers, the Dodgers managed their second straight shutout.

Offensively, the Dodgers were paced by solo home runs from Enrique Hernandez and Teoscar Hernandez.

Teoscar Hernandez’s shot was a moonshot to left field, highlighted by his amazing and viral swing with the bat.

That home run also reached several Toronto Blue Jays fans on social media, who posted that they wished the Jays still had Hernandez on the roster. Toronto traded the All-Star to the Seattle Mariners after the 2022 season. He was in the final year of his contract and was going to take a big hit in arbitration, so the team traded him to a deal that included backup Erik Swanson.

Hernandez could have returned to Toronto last offseason, but the team chose Shohei Ohtani instead. Both players ultimately signed in Los Angeles. Hernandez is a free agent again at the end of this season, so he will be available if the Jays want him.

He hit .272 with 33 home runs, 99 RBI and 12 stolen bases that regular season. He posted an OPS of .840. With the Jays, his best year was 2021, when he hit 32 home runs and drove in 116.

Here are some comments from Jays fans on “X” about Hernandez and his run with the Dodgers.
