Tom Holland read a script for “Spider-Man 4” with Zendaya

Tom Holland is thrilled Spider Man 4and revealed that he read a draft of the script with his co-star and girlfriend Zendaya a few weeks ago.

However, he recently shared on the Rich Roll Podcast that “it takes work, but the writers do a great job.”

Last month, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that Destin Daniel Cretton was in talks to direct the fourth installment of the superhero franchise, taking over from director Jon Watts.

“One of the things to remember with Marvel is that your film is a small cog in a big machine,” Holland explained of the development process Spider Man 4. “And this machine must keep running. And you need to make sure you can fit yourself into that schedule at the right time to help the bigger picture. This is one of the challenges we face. The time it takes to get this done is a tall order, but definitely doable with the fantastic people working on it now.”

The Crowded space Star added that the film team already has “a creative, a pitch and an outline that is excellent.”

“There is still work to be done, but the writers are doing a great job,” he continued. “I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it, and sometimes we jumped around the living room and thought, “This is a real movie that deserves the respect of the fans.” But there are still a few things we need to figure out before we can really get this going, but it’s exciting.”

Holland played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in three standalone films alongside Zendaya’s MJ: 2017 Spider-Man: Homecoming2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home. He also appeared in several other Marvel films, such as in 2019 Avengers: Endgame and 2018 Avengers: Infinity War.

Last year, the actor admitted Collider that he would be willing to reprise his superhero role, but only if the plot “does justice to the character.”

“I feel very protective of Spider-Man,” he added at the time. “I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with every movie, that got more successful with every movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect its legacy.” So I will don’t do another one just for the sake of doing another one. It has to be worth it for the character.”
