Earlier this week, the world was shocked to learn that Gisele Bündchen was pregnant with baby number three. Because even though Bündchen and her boyfriend Joaquim Valente have been doing well since the summer of 2023, we didn’t necessarily expect baby news from the mother of two so quickly.

But while the world may have been surprised, Bündchen’s ex-husband Tom Brady seemed pretty surprised too. According to new sources for Us weeklyThe former NFL star was “shocked” when he first heard the news but is “ultimately” happy for it.

“It was hard to digest at first,” the source said of Brady’s reaction. “He knows that Gisele is a great mother and is destined to be a mother.”

As a reminder, Bündchen and Brady, who were married for 13 years from 2009 to 2022, share children Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.

While they sorted out all the legal matters fairly quickly in their divorce, it was clear that Bündchen and Brady didn’t end on the best of terms. Now that she’s moved on and is starting a family with someone else, it’s heartwarming to see that they can support each other in the new chapter.

According to the source, it was also important for the Brazilian model to tell Brady before the news made headlines. “When Gisele told the kids she was pregnant, she also let Tom know,” the insider said. “This happened a few months ago. She wanted to give him that courtesy and knew the kids would tell him either way.”

Knowing how stressful it can have been to hear the news online, we applaud Bündchen for taking the initiative.

Against this background, sources reported Page Six that the ex-boyfriends are not too close either. “I think they talk when they have to,” the insider told the outlet. “Tom does his best for the kids and puts them first and that’s all that matters – he does his best.”
