The preseason comes to an end on Sunday evening with the New England Patriots traveling to Maryland for a direct duel with the Washington Commanders.

New England has a 1-1 record in their last two preseason games. Their defense dominated the Carolina Panthers in the opener, while a flawed offensive performance in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles led to their downfall.

The Commanders lost two games in a row to the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins in the preseason.

This will be the Patriots’ first road game under newly hired head coach Jerod Mayo, so they will approach this exhibition match like a real game week to prepare for the regular season opener at Cincinnati.
