TikTok’s Mr. Prada faces first-degree murder charge, says DA | Crime/Police

The man accused of killing a Baton Rouge therapist and dumping the body in Tangipahoa Parish now faces an enhanced charge of first-degree murder, court records show.

Terryon Thomas, 20, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail for the murder of William Nicholas Abraham, 69. An affidavit from an East Baton Rouge sheriff’s detective listed the number of first-degree murders.

The sheriff’s office filed the affidavit upgrading the murder count after investigators discussed the case with prosecutors from the East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office. A judge found probable cause for the felony offense and denied Thomas bail during a hearing Tuesday at the 19th Judicial District Courthouse.

Thomas was transported to Baton Rouge from the Dallas Country Justice Center. He was arrested Oct. 1 in Dallas as a fugitive from Baton Rouge on charges of aggravated property damage, resisting an officer and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Two days later, while Thomas was still in the Dallas County Jail, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office added two more charges: second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

With the change to first-degree murder, Thomas could potentially face the death penalty, although District Attorney Hillar Moore’s office has not yet decided whether to pursue that sentence.

Thomas, who goes by “Mr. Prada” was seen on security video on Sept. 28 pulling a tarp down the stairs of his Baton Rouge apartment, officials said. Sheriff’s investigators later found a bloody scene in Thomas’ apartment as well as DNA evidence that linked Thomas to the victim.

Thomas was later seen driving the victim’s car and managed to elude Baton Rouge police who tried to pull him over, according to arrest documents.

Abraham’s body was found rolled up in a tarp on the La side early September 29th. 51 was found between Fluker and the Village of Tangipahoa, the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office said. The coroner concluded Abraham died from blunt force trauma.

The sheriff’s office said the relationship between the suspect and the victim and the motive for the killing remain under investigation.

“At this time, there is no evidence that Thomas was a customer of Abraham’s,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Thomas is also charged with obstruction of justice.
