GRUNDY, Va. – Tickets for the fourth annual Southern Gap Elk Fest Wild Game Dinner will go on sale at 9 a.m. August 29.

“The wild game dinner, sponsored by the Buchanan County Chamber of Commerce, is the inaugural event of the Southern Gap Elk Fest,” said Amanda Shafer, executive director of the chamber of commerce, in a statement. “For the past three years, the dinner has always sold out and we expect this year’s dinner to sell out quickly as well. Once tickets are gone, they’re gone, so we ask that anyone planning to attend the dinner contact us to reserve their tickets once they go on sale later this month.”

The dinner will be held on October 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure Visitor Center, 1124 Chipping Sparrow Road, Grundy.

Tickets cost $50 each, or you can reserve a table for eight for $500.

Game dishes offered include venison and elk. Additional game dishes are currently being considered and the final menu will be announced in early October. Chicken is also offered with two sides, salad, bread, dessert and lemonade, tea or water.

Following dinner there will be a short auction organized by the Southwest Virginia Sportsman’s Club.
