Three Cooper Kupp trade landing spots: Los Angeles Rams WR trade targets

It certainly sounds like the Los Angeles Rams are open to trading superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

The Rams, who famously touted the “F Them Picks” moniker, appear to be open to trades, and one of the NFL’s best wide receivers could be moved before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports that the Rams have made several calls and they would even be willing to take on Kupp’s remaining salary if it meant getting a second-round draft pick.

Due to a sprained ankle, Kupp has only played in two games for the Rams this season. However, according to multiple reports, he is ready to return to action on Thursday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings, a team that is reportedly interested in trading his services.

Here are a few other landing spots that might make sense:

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs remain the NFL’s only undefeated team, but despite that record, quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t lived up to his billing so far this season and the offense just doesn’t look right.

We all know the Chiefs are on a quest for their third straight Super Bowl victory. Does adding one of the best receivers in football show how serious they are?

Kansas City lost wide receiver Rashee Rice to a season-ending knee injury, and the addition of Kupp could signal to the entire offense that it’s time to wake up.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Here’s another team that will certainly require Kupp’s services. Remember, they were involved in trade talks with Brandon Aiyuk just a few months ago before he ultimately decided to stay with the San Francisco 49ers.

At 5-2, the Steelers are one of the NFL’s biggest surprises this season. Mike Tomlin knows how to create and leverage culture, regardless of who starts at quarterback. Is there a receiver in the game who fits this culture as well as Kupp?

If the Steelers want to get serious in the AFC playoff mix, adding Kupp is certainly a way to put the league on the map.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers lost both Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) on Monday Night Football. Godwin’s injury ends the season and he will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025.

The Buccaneers are the Steelers of the NFC as they surprised some people with their 4-2 start. At times, Baker Mayfield looked like an MVP candidate. The Buccaneers have plenty of options to replace Godwin, but adding Kupp would keep them in the playoff mix in a very weak NFC South.

Before you google it. No. Kupp didn’t play in that magical victory in December 2022, where Mayfield led the Rams to victory without even knowing the playbook.
