This Morning’s Rylan Clark plans ‘next wedding’ after devastating break-up confession

Rylan Clark opened the show “This Morning” with a moving confession about his separation from his former partner Dan Neal.

While co-hosting the popular ITV morning programme with Josie Gibson, the conversation turned to topics relating to marriage. Their guest Gyles Brandreth shared memories of his own wedding to his wife Michele Brown, mentioning that the ceremony was an intimate one at Marylebone Registry Office with just two guests.

When a picture of young Gyles with his “gorgeous” wife was shown, Rylan joked: “This is the first time I’ve seen you not in a sweater!”

Gyles delved into the past and said: “June 8th, 1968. This is Michelle and I outside Marylebone Register Office. We only had two witnesses, only two people at our wedding, a friend of Michelle’s and my best friend from school, an actor called Simon Cadell. You might remember him from Hi-de-Hi!”

He added that the license only cost £5 at the time and noted nostalgically that you could even park right outside the registry office. After the wedding, Gyles simply celebrated the occasion with lunch with his friends, reports the Mirror.

Reflecting on Gyles’ simple wedding, Rylan mused on his own possible future nuptials, saying: “I mean, if I ever did it again, I’d say, ‘I’m not going to tell anyone, we’ll just send someone to the house.’ We’ll be in our underpants. I’m doing that – ta-da. Done.”

While discussing his failed marriage, Rylan Clark recounted the poignant moment when he realised a venue had been booked for their 10th anniversary before their split last year. The couple were together for six years before calling it quits.

He said: “I didn’t realise that I had actually booked a venue for my 10th wedding anniversary. A few months ago I got an email asking ‘Do you still want this venue?’ I was like ‘No!’ I was like ‘I forgot about that’. I lost my deposit and everything else!”

Previously, Rylan reached a milestone by co-hosting This Morning with Dan in July 2016, becoming the show’s first gay couple. Dan, who worked as a detective in the Metropolitan Police, also appeared on Big Brother in 2013, a show where Rylan took part in the celebrity edition.

The former couple first crossed paths on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, which led to their engagement in 2014 and eventually exchanging wedding vows in 2016. Unfortunately, their split resulted in Rylan stepping away from the spotlight to focus on his mental wellbeing.
