MONTEVIDEO (AP) — CONMEBOL ordered Uruguayan club Peñarol to host Botafogo de Brasil at the Estadio Centenario, as part of its own feudo, to ensure security in the Copa Libertadores semifinals.

The change of tendons was announced the day before the meeting, when I was previously a guest at the Campeón del Siglo stadium, the Cancha de Peñarol. The rector of South American football did not accept that the participants of the race were arguing with visitors about the event.

Botafogo finished 5-0 in the final against Victoria in Rio de Janeiro last week.

CONMEBOL said in a statement that the move follows a warning from the Uruguayan authorities about the safety of visitors to Peñarol’s relatives in Brazil against incidents of violence.

El Centenario is a larger stadium than the Campeón del Siglo.

The national director of the Uruguay police, José Manuel Azambuya, told the men that “in the Campeón del Siglo no one can play with two parcialidades, only with the local parcialidad, the hinchada of Peñarol.”

“El Centenario is a place where you can feel comfortable. “We have experienced many events and met with everyone, we have had the experience and through our accommodation we have been given an opportunity and a guarantee that must be played with the two dedications and guarantees,” Azambuya’s statement said.

The CONMEBOL provides that all relative costs for the Traslado de la Sede deberán will be charged by Peñarol.
