The Raiders are trading Adams to the Jets for a reported third-round pick

Raiders trade Adams to Jets for third-round pick originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

Davante Adams appears to be leaving Las Vegas to reunite with an old friend.

The Las Vegas Raiders are trading the three-time All-Pro wide receiver to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round NFL draft pick, reuniting him with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport first reported Tuesday morning, before the team made the selection moving officer.

As Rapoport reported, the third-round pick the Jets send to the Raiders could become a second-round pick depending on how Adams performs with New York.

While the trade was reportedly agreed to, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported shortly afterward that the move was expected to be completed sometime Tuesday and that Las Vegas would not pay Adams any remaining salary.

Adams arrived in Las Vegas in 2022 after spending his first eight NFL seasons with Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. He made the Pro Bowl in his first season with the Raiders and had his fifth career season with 100 catches and 1,000 yards in 2023.

The 31-year-old wideout has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown so far in 2024. He missed the team’s last three games with a hamstring injury.

After the Raiders’ Week 4 win, Adams reportedly “favored” a move away from Las Vegas. He told FanDuel’s Kay Adams on Oct. 1 that he had not heard from Antonio Pierce after the Raiders head coach apparently liked a social media post that suggested the team trade him.

The Jets and Saints were at the top of Adams’ list of potential landing spots, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Oct. 2. A trade to New Orleans would have reunited Adams with former Fresno State and Raiders teammate Derek Carr.
