The Pocket Camp live service ends in November

Popular mobile app Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be closed on 28 November 2024with live service support ending. But as Nintendo confirmed in an email to players, this will not be the end of the game.

While other Nintendo mobile games have recently been discontinued, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will live on, as Nintendo plans to launch a new, paid version of the app in the coming months. It sounds like this version will be functionally similar to the original Bag Campbecause players can transfer their saved data and progress and continue playing with the new version of the game.

All you have to do is link your Nintendo Account to your version of. Bag Campand you’ll be able to download that data in the new app. All progress is expected to carry over, including villager friendship levels – although the status of leaf tickets is currently unclear.

As Nintendo announced, the sale of Leaf tickets will stop two days before the original closes. Bag Campalthough they can be redeemed until the end date. Given the paid version of Bag Camp will remove live service elements such as microtransactions, it is unknown how Leaf Tickets will transfer.

As an additional note, Pocket Camp Club subscriptions will also end with the closure of the original Bag Campand players will no longer be charged for this service in the future.

What to expect in the paid version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Nintendo has released the new, paid version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will retain the same “basic gameplay and controls” as its predecessor. However, it will not carry over the in-app purchases or subscription services.

Players pay a one-time fee to access the app and can then unlock all items and features in the game. However, some items such as market crates and gifts will no longer be available. You also cannot visit other players’ campsites, so there are no multiplayer elements in this version of the game.

Hand tickets also cannot be used or transferred, but there is hope that they will be translated somehow so players don’t have to pay out of pocket. (Still, it might be a good idea to spend your last hand tickets as soon as possible, just in case.)

Nintendo has promised a new look and fresh details for the new version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp in October 2024, so stay tuned for more information.
