Hello fellow pilots! This is Wally the Pilot, writing to you from across the pond. I’m accompanying our famous women’s basketball team on their first European trip in over 20 years and will be reporting live to you on our activities over the next two weeks. This blog will be updated daily for your reading pleasure. With that said, let’s get right into it!

DAY 1: THE JOURNEY BEGINS…

The day is finally here! I left this afternoon with Portland Pilots Women’s Basketball from PDX International for a 10 hour flight to Amsterdam. Personally, I prefer to travel by riverboat, but I found these Pilots did an excellent job of getting us to our first stop. Here I am relaxing at beautiful Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

After another two hours, we finally arrived in beautiful Split, Croatia! We ended our day by checking out some of the sights of Split’s Old Town. Split is a city on the Dalmatian coast, home of the former Roman Emperor Diocletian. I may not be an emperor, but I felt like the king of the world being by the water – not to mention all the other sights of the beautiful ancient city.
